- INSTRUCTIONS
- ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
-
- NoteEdit is a utility to write and save cryped notes. The ability of an
- automatic diary (maybe someone needs one..) is included as well.
-
- When starting NoteEdit you are ask to enter a password. You are ask to
- enter it twice to avoid typing mistakes.
-
- Then you can select one of these functions :
-
- Edit text : Pressing this gadget loads the editor which loads today's
- text if it already exists. Otherwise a new textfile is generated.
- The text is saved in the Data directory under the date of today.
- Old texts can be shown using 'Load old text'.
- Write the text you want, save it and leave the editor. The
- text will be crypted then.
-
- New password : Select this function if you want to enter a new password.
- Entering a wrong password causes no visible effect, but if you
- try to edit or load a text you can't read it, it's only a mess of
- chars.
-
- Edit config : You can specify which programs are used to edit and load
- textfiles and where the directory of NoteEdit is. The default
- texteditor is C:Ed, the textviewer Utilities:More and the default
- directory SYS:. The actual configuration is save under
- s:Note.config. By selecting this function the editor is loaded
- and you can change this file (or create a new one). Type
-
- EDITOR : editorname
- MORE : textviewername
- DIR : pathname
-
- and insert the names of the editor etc.
-
- Load old text : With 'Edit text' you read only today's text. With this
- function you can read every text, that you wrote in the past (or
- future ?!), but you can't edit it. Select the corresponding date
- using the arrows and press this gadget.
-
- Other : By pressing this gadget a list of all files in the Other
- directory is shown. Select one file name or press the right
- mousebutton to cancel. After selecting you can edit the file.
- Save it and quit the editor. The text will be crypted again.
-
- New : With this function you can create a new file in the Other
- directory. Simply enter the name and edit the file using the
- 'Other' function.
-
- To work correctly with 'Edit text' the right date should be available. Use
- the CLI-command Date to set it or a battery-buffered clock.
